Here are some words from those who've sampled the Smythe Road 2003, 2004 and 2005 Pure Barossa Shiraz:

"...I don't know what you're doing with that patch of yours, but whatever it is just keep doing it!"

    Jim Irvine, Winemaker SA

2003 Vintage - "A fabulous wine that will need to do time in the cellar. Lots of wood on the prune/licorice nose. Lovely depth of fruitcake-like flavours on a densely structured palate with very ripe, grippy tannins. 5 stars."

Winestate magazine. New Releases Category. July/August 2005

2003 Vintage - "Bloody Magic - a well structured wine with the traditional Barossa pepper nose with jammy fruit cake flavours."

    The Panel, Your Shout Liquor

"I'm enjoying every drop of this..."

    P. Daams, travellerspoint.com

"Nectar!"

    B. Daws, VIC

"This reminds me I've got to get back to drinking decent wine!"

    R. Miller, SA

"More, please."

    C. Elliot, VIC

2004 Vintage -"This is another Barossa Blockbuster from the 2004 vintage with all the hallmarks of what the Barossa does best in an exceptional vintage. Deep purple red in colour, the nose has intense blackberry, licorice and sweet vanillin oak. The palate is full-bodied, rich and dense with layers of cassis, blackberry and spicy fruit flavours interwoven with creamy oak. This is a wine to put away for 5-7 years, after which time it will gain complexity and become a classic Barossa Shiraz style "

    The Adelaide Club, SA

2005 Vintage -"Undeniably rich and ripe Barossa in a bottle from the Stonewell subregion, with a touch of interesting tar through the big, burstinglysweet blue-skinned plum flavours. Lightly handled tannin delivery allows the fruit to sing -a modern Barossa voice full of power."
